How Unakoti district is organised

Stories on this platform are filed against the district’s actual administrative units, so a filter always names a real place.

• Four Rural Development blocks — Chandipur, Gournagar, Kumarghat and Pecharthal — holding 92 local bodies between them: 60 Gram Panchayats and 32 Village Councils. A Village Council is a Sixth Schedule body under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council; Pecharthal block is made up entirely of them.
• Two Municipal Councils — Kailashahar and Kumarghat — which sit alongside the blocks rather than inside them. A school in either town is listed under the Council itself.

Every unit name on this platform comes from the list supplied by the district administration.
